We normally would like to conduct a meeting/workshop with key stakeholders in the project to best ascertain what can be achieved on the new website. The purpose behind this meeting is to allow our development team to ascertain the ‘look & feel’ and navigation structure that supports your branding.
We gather the logo, copy, images, files and animation that will form the content (Company letterhead, brochures, business cards etc). The output of the meeting is to have sufficient information to prepare a creative look & feel proposal and a template specification. This information can be gathered and sent via email.
We will then prepare a number of ‘templates’ for your proofing and approval. A test website can be set-up for you to view the templates look & feel and later to check and test the website navigation, content and features.
The style chosen and approved at this point will then be carried throughout the project. Once the style (look & feel) and technical specification has been signed off we will proceed to building all the elements that form the web site.
Our copywriter will then translate the brief and content into web friendly and search engine copy that supports the overall communication we are trying to achieve. At stages during the development we will require you to view and approve work-in-progress. This allows you to participate throughout the project and ensures that we remain working towards a mutually understood goal. With digital media development it is always time consuming to attempt making design or structural changes after elements have been accepted and progressed upon.
Once the development and integration is complete the next step is to ‘testing & debugging’. This means going through each page link, photograph, button, banner and animation to ensure that they work correctly, point at the correct target-content and display as beautifully as intended. We generally like to allow 3-5 weeks for this process before “going live” to the public.
The moment you’ve been waiting for, it’s time to ‘go live’.
Implementation of the Website could be 8 weeks from signing-off of the Design Style and Template requirement, depending on any further changes required.
